Just saw I've been a Deviant for 7 years.

7 YEARS! And what have I done with my art?

Good grief...

I have gained a Certificate IV in Web Development. This brings me at least one step closer to a feasible goal of getting a job in an industry I enjoy.

Or do I enjoy it?

I want to create a series of "portfolio" web pages, so that I have something to show when the time comes. I want to test my artistic vs practical skills and all that, but I'm finding it difficult to get the motivation necessary to even begin. I still don't think my skills are good enough to begin making web pages yet, there's so much I don't know and I worry that my course is not going to teach me these things. I'm probably going to have to learn this stuff on my own, but where to begin?

This is a conundrum that I shall have to overcome soon. I begin my Diploma soon, so perhaps that'll give me some more confidence in my abilities, but for now I should probably research some designs and get inspired.

I've set up a second DeviantArt that will be disclosed when I have something to show, that one'll most likely be more portfolio-centric.

For all those 1 people who read my journal, you might know i'm a rookie games and consoles collector. I have quite a collection building, and managed to get my hands on a few cool things this week.

First off was a Nes Top-loading system. I'd been looking casually for one, since they're cool but good old cashconverters... you can always count on them to not know how to price things properly because they were selling it for $60, bargain!

Second haul was a whole motherload of Commodore 64 stuff that my girlfriends dad got off a guy he works with. Not just disks, but a bunch of games still in boxes near-mint, controllers and apparently possibly an Atari 2600 as well if he can find it, also with a bunch of games.

Woot! On a side note, i'm also casually trying to build a website devoted to retro stuff, expect it up in a few years maybe
